Rene Rios

Rene O. Rios was called to his eternal home with his loving wife by his side on Friday, July 24,2020 at the age of 46. He was born on May 2,1974 to Roman G. Rios and Isabel Ortiz Rios in Belvidere, Illinois.

Rene fell in love with his beautiful childhood friend and future wife, Melinda Ann Saenz. They married on July 19,1997, and made their homestead in Gregory, Tx. From this marriage, they had two beautiful daughters, Hope and Faith Rios.

He was always a hard worker, Rene worked as a safety coordinator for many years for countless companies. He was a man of faith, who devoted his life to his family. He was an advocate for his community, by serving on the Gregory City Council and the Gregory Volunteer Fire Department.

Rene was a devout catholic, and an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church, volunteering his time as a catechist in the Religious Education Department, a youth Adult Leader of the Lifeteen Program, and was an Usher. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8717, and served as a 3rd Degree Knight.

Rene is preceded in death by his father, Roman G. Rios Jr. He is survived by his wife, Melinda Ann Rios, and his daughters, Esperanza (Hope) Renee and Faith Nevaeh Rios, his mother, Isabel O. Rios, Brothers, Roman G. Rios III (Irene), and Roel Rios (Nicole). He also leaves behind a countless number of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews as well as his in-laws who loved him dearly.

He was adored and loved by many coworkers, and friends. Anyone who had just a second of time with him, immediately was impacted by his witty sense of humor and contagious laughter. He will be truly missed by many.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 4,2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. 107 Church Street, Gregory, Tx, 78359. The visitation of the urn will begin at 10:00 am. A rosary will be recited at 1:30 pm, with the celebration of the Holy Mass to begin at 2:00 pm. The family is offering an extended visitation of the urn from 4-8pm for anyone who would like to pay their last respects.
