Dustin Charles (Devo) DeVos

August 19, 1982 ~ September 2, 2021 (age 39)

Obituary

“We lost Devo on September 2, 2021 when he rushed into a burning hospital room to save a group of amazing MD Anderson nurses. Or maybe not. We all know how he liked to tell stories.” Dustin survived falls, burning vehicles, and cancer up until the day he entered into eternity. Devo was a Saint long before he left this earth. He never stopped smiling and he never stopped worrying about others. He carried his cross so bravely. Anyone that ever met him will miss him deeply. Dustin may have lost his earthly battle with cancer that night, but he won the ultimate reward of heaven.

Words can not begin to describe the talent he had in all he did. He loved his business and employees, and every single customer made a big impact on his heart. Dustin was outgoing, he was the kind of man that never met a stranger, he'd give you the shirt off his back, and help any way he could. He always had faith when most of us wouldn't, especially during his battle with cancer. He fought HARD (stem cell transplant, multiple rounds of chemo, multiple rounds of radiation, pneumonia, etc.) but he never once questioned why him, and he never complained of the pain he endured.

He was a person that made a big impact in so many lives, and will continue to be an inspiration that we will never forget. It’s worth mentioning he was also a chef (my goodness the meals he could whip up), he was ornery & witty, he lit up a room with his infectious grin, and always had a charming twinkle in his eye. He RADIATED love for his wife, Marie, and their 5 beautiful babies. He was the husband, father, and friend that you would want to be. If you were ever around him, you knew instantly that his entire life was dedicated to loving Jesus, Marie, his babies, and his family.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Marie DeVos, 5 children: Wyatt DeVos, E.C. (Easton) DeVos, Gemma DeVos, Joseph Paul DeVos and Dustin Brian DeVos (little Devo). Surviving family include his parents, Brian and Sandra DeVos, his sister and brother-n-law, Kristina and Clay Lange. In laws, Paul and Maggie Pustejovsky, Dustin and Lucy Pustejovsky, Paul Pustejovsky Jr. and Meagan Pustejovsky, Tracy and Sean Dronen, and 12 beautiful nieces and nephews that he loved so dearly.

The DeVos family is overwhelmed by all the outpouring of love and support shown from family, friends, and the whole community.
