Paul Daniel Wibbeler II passed away on Friday, October 9th, 2020, at his home surrounded by family.
Paul was born on July 5th, 1944 in Huntingburg, IN, to Paul and Ruth Wibbeler. His life of 76 years was full. On November 4th, 1966, he married Denise Kathleen Clarkson. Together they raised five daughters and three sons. In 1967 he earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. He then earned a Masters in Accounting(MAcc) from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH in 1974. He worked for Owens Corning in Toledo, OH until he retired in the spring of 2009.
Paul was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved studying the gospel and enjoyed his many activities in the church, especially teaching. He believed in serving his community and spent over a decade, as a Boy Scout leader, in Troop 231 and 104 in the Erie Shores Council in Toledo, OH. The guidance he provided helped many young men to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Among his many joys, he loved to chase Hot Air Balloons and listen to various types of quirky music, and he passed these loves on to his children. In retirement, he became a Master Naturalist, both in Ohio and Texas and earned the Presidential Award for Volunteers.
Paul was a man of Faith, Family, and Nature and his presence will be sorely missed.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruth, and his sister, Susan. He is survived by his wife, Denise, his eight children, Susan, Brandy, Karen, Laura, Jonathan, Daniel, Adam, and Denise A.E., his brother, Steve, and his 18 grandchildren.
Paul’s funeral will be this Monday, October 26th at 2 p.m. at the Palms Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Taft, TX.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions this will be an outdoor graveside service.
